The Fire Suppression Division provides fire protection, rescue services, hazardous materials services, and medical first responder services to the residents of the City of San Antonio and other service areas.

SAEMS continues to be the National leader in pre-hospital and life-saving medical care during our citizens’ greatest time of need.
EMS
TRT responds to vehicle or machinery extrications, swift water rescues, high angle (rope) rescues, confined space incidents, building collapses, train derailments, aircraft emergencies, and more. Many members of the TRT are also members of the Texas Task Force One, a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Team that can be deployed nationwide to any disaster situation.

The Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Division (ARFF) provides fire rescue services for the aviation operations conducted at San Antonio International Airport and Stinson Airfield.
Arson determines the origin and cause of fires, conducts criminal investigations, and investigates fire fatalities.
